They had just met through Duke in Silicon Valley, one studying Health Beyond Care through Duke’s Program II, the other a Biomedical Engineer. Back at Duke, they saw a problem: despite being a global hub for healthcare, the students shaping its future were siloed. Had it not been for Duke in SV, the two likely never would have met.

DBBH was built to break those barriers.

We are Duke’s first organization focused on educating students about the health economy and expanding what it means to make an impact in health. While other groups offer healthcare resources, none explicitly encourage cross-major, cross-sector collaboration.

In fact, we require it.

We’re not just a pre-health club. We’re a community of visionary students building with heart, urgency, and most importantly, joy.
